Nice one guys, I remember buying a ‘brewzer’ all in one system that miraculously fermented you beer then gave you pints of clear beer, it was terrible, after a few batches it got launched out a window. I love your videos though, the hop chronicle ones are great. I brewed a ‘sultana’ hopped smash beer last night, 4.5kg of MO with 100g of Sultana, it’s meant to be pineapple/citrus/piney, we’ll see how it turns out! Cheers🍺

Lot of fun Martin. As we discussed, I have friends who might buy one of these as a novelty, but not to brew beer regularly. Still, the beer it made was good.

The major limiting factor of all-in-one devices like this is that the brew system is tied up while you're serving the beer. So, you get a long wait to make *eight beers*, then serve them over what, a day or two, then another long wait for the next batch. Now, if you had TWO systems you could rotate, but at $1400USD, there are better ways to spend your money.

If this is an AD it hasn't exactly landed has it. Looks like an expensive bad version of the Pinter. Other then the cooling system the Pinter does the same but better.

a friend of mine gave me a slurry of supposed kveik yeast, that turned out to be a normal us-05(mistaken jars in a messy frdge).i've fermented an irish red ale worth at 32°C. it took from 1.046 to 1.010 in only 12 hours, the end result was hazy but with a very fruity profile. peaches and cherries were always described by drinkers.

Isnt protein a macronutrient not a micro nutrient. Isn't beer actually of nutritional benefit in terms of micronutrients such as zinc, magnesium, manganese, iron etc? But also the mineral content helps with electrolyte balance (if not abused). Part of the reason non-alcoholic beer can be made into an electrolyte drink.

I seem to recall that in the past when you sent your homebrew out for testing you also got an extremely lower than expected IBU result. Could it be that all homebrewers should be skeptical about our software estimates and start increasing the amount of hops used?

I could see this being useful even to produce your own co2 with a sugarwater yeast mix in a separate container, collect the co2 in a bottle at say 3 bar, then use that to dispense beer. Would have come in handy during covid when it was hard to find co2.

Back when I was in the Middle East our rugby club would brew in 220 litre barrels. We would leave the slurry in for a further 2 brews before emptying and cleaning. The beer always had the same consistency. Over an 8 year period we probably put down a hundred of those 220 L barrels each year.

60min here, all styles, even my wee-heavy. I tried 30 and 90 mins, never saw or tasted a difference. Also, since I often do consecutive batches, I use my 60-min boil time to bottle/keg the previous batch; when the boil is done, I quick-cool & xfer to the fermenter I just emptied with the yeast pack still at the bottom. (I use a pressure fermenter, btw.)

The biggest thing to always consider is who is paying for the "study". Its already been shown that Sugar industry paid off "studies" many years ago to make sugar look good and trans fats be bad. Just like the FDA says a bowl of sugary cereal is better than eating a steak or even a chicken breast. When you look deeper youll find that General mills is a platinum donor to the company that FDA uses to provide the information from these studies.

Alcohol is nowhere near the same level as asbestos and tobacco. Both do damage when entering the lungs. Asbestos doesn't break down and causes chronic inflammation. Tobacco contains particles of radioactive Polonium that also deposit in the lungs. Alcohol is broken down to acetaldehyde and then to acetic acid. Any potential cancer would be caused by a large build up of acetaldehyde through excessive drinking. That's where abusing spirits becomes a risk. As for the carbs, they're cold. When starches are warm the polymers unfold and our amylase enzymes can cleave them to simpler sugars for absorption. When cold they coil up and are consumed by our gut bacteria that produce vitamin K (iirc). That's why flatulence is common with beer drinkers, and it's healthy.
